Busbar is a conductor that connects large electric accessory such as generator, transformer and so on to various kinds of electrical installation. Slot-shaped busbar has good mechanical strength and current carrying capacity and its skin effect coefficient is also smaller. The slot-shaped busbar is generally used in the power distribution unit whose current is between 4000 A to 8000A.
 
Tubular busbar's skin effect coefficient is small and it has strong mechanical strength. Water and wind can go though the tube. It is heavy-current busbar. More than 8000A current can pass though it.
 
According to the material, busbar is divided into copper busbar, aluminium busbar and copper clad aluminium busbar
 
Copper has the advantages of high conductivity and strong mechanical strength. In addition to its high conductivity and strong mechanical strength, copper is corrosion resistant and easily processed. It is a good conductive material. But the copper's storage is limited and it is broadly used in other industries. Therefore aluminum takes the place of copper in electric utility induction.
