Busbar, a Late-Model Power Distribution Wire 2013-03-18
With the emergences of modern engineering facilities and equipments in large numbers, the electricity consumption in all walks of life is increasing rapidly, especially the appearances of high-rise buildings and large-scale factories. The traditional cables acting as the transmission conductor cannot satisfy the requirement of large current conveying system. Then, a set of late-model power-distribution wire system comes into being, which is called plug-in type bus duct.
The electrical bus bar adopts the new technique and new technology, which reduces the contact resistance and temperature rise of two ends and branching entrance. In the meantime, the high-quality insulation material has been used in the bus bar, which improves both the safety and reliability. Currently, there are many different bus bars in nowadays market, which can be divided into three main branches. The first branch is hard busbar, including CCA busbar, rectangle bus, groove-shape bus and tubular bus. Flexible busbar is the second branch, which consists of aluminum bus, copper bus and expanding hollow bus. The last branch is enclosed busbar, which contains common-phase busbar and isolated phase busbar.
Here are some technical parameters that should be taken into consideration if such a late-model bus bar is adopted. The service condition comes very first. Generally speaking, the environment temperature is ranging from -30℃ to 40℃, while the elevation and humidity are less than 2000m and less than 50% respectively. The seismic basic intensity is 6-degree fortification. In the meantime, the dielectric resistance value of every enclosed busbar unit should be equal to or more than 100MΩ and 2500V. The dielectric strength means every enclosed busbar should be through one-minute power-frequency high-voltage holding test. The tested value should be in accordance with the national standard. The ground system lives up to the requirement of IEC364-5-54 and the load performance should meet the GB763-90 standard under the rated electric current. All of these factors should be born in mind by not only buyer, but also bus bar manufacturer.
When it comes to the application of bus bar, briefly speaking, it plays a key role in assembling, distributing and transmitting the electrical energy. On one hand, it can act as the connections for voltage and electric current distribution appliance of all levels. On the other hand, it also can be the links of some electrical devices and their corresponding power distribution units. Therefore, many industrial production and manufacturing fields and residential buildings would like to turn to the bus bar.
